US Congress Conference Report which has not been voted on or passed yet, refers to the final version of the bill - does not allow a deduction for prepayment of 2018 state income taxes. https://rules.house.gov/conference-report/hr-1 In addition prior revenue rulings 71-190 and 82-208 also preclude taking a 2017 deduction for payments made in 2017 to be applied to a tax liability in 2018 — notably, a year that has not even arrived at the time of payment, let alone produced any income, deductions, credits, or other items to support a tax calculation. Any payment might be in the form of an estimated tax — to be credited against the 2018 tax liability when ...

For those of you who couldn't attend today's 13th Annual Ellen Gordon Cpas 4(a): Cause 5K Run/Walk to end hunger you missed a fun morning. The day was beautiful, there were numerous gifts, food supplied by David Gordon and his family and also Panera Bread and great raffle prizes. The proceeds benefited Island Harvest. The event was finished by 10:15, so you could complete your Father's day plans. (hint, hint) Hope to see you there next year.

Microsoft is aware of limited, targeted attacks that attempt to exploit a vulnarability in Internet Explorer. The vulnerability is a remote code execution vulnerability. The vulnerability exists in the way that Internet Explorer accesses an object in memory that has been deleted or has not been properly allocated. The vulnerability may corrupt memory in a way that could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user within Internet Explorer. An attacker could host a specially crafted website that is designed to exploit this vulnerability through Internet Explorer and then convince a user to view the website. ...

I write regularly about misclassification issues but it is important for clients to understand that cases take two pathways after audit. However, an audit which does not involve an unemployed individual takes a different trajectory to the little known Board of Industrial Appeals. The board consists of five gubernatorial appointees and its activities include: Hearing and adjudicating appeals concerning the reasonableness or validity of health and safety standards promulgated by the ...

Under this provision, every U.S. citizen must have health insurance that provides "minimum essential coverage" or be subject to a "shared responsibility" penalty. The penalty cannot exceed the cost of the "Bronze" level plan premium for the applicable family size as offered through the "Exchanges".
